[From historic core website] PUBLIC SAFETY
"Street Plus supplies the Historic Core with conscientious officers trained to patrol by bike, foot beat, and segway. They serve the community 24 hours a day every day by often being first responders and liaisons between the community and other city agencies. We also have personnel dedicated for outreach purposes to local unsheltered people. Considering the number of service providers just blocks from our district, it makes sense to coordinate with non-profit experts in the field."
Note: Because this organization is privately funded by the local businesses in DTLA, there tends to be preferential allocation of funds to corporate business sectors of downtown, like Bunker Hill. The Bunker Hill/big banks area of downtown has many more Purple Shirts than the Historic Core has Green Shirts. Last I checked, the Historic Core is only granted about 15 Green Shirts on staff total because we are primarily a residential burrough, not a big business burrough. Sadly, however, because there are a lot of bars and clubs in the Historic Core, and it's adjacent to Skid Row, we can end up with a lot of crime and poor management of persons. To assist in creating safer spaces, this would necessitate more than 15 people on staff.

Note: My personal experience with him is that he can be hard to get a hold of and he doesn't seem to follow through on resolving your issue. He has a mixed reputation here in the Historic Core/Skid Row area. However, some people seem to have gotten some good results working with him.
